The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is supporting projects in China since 2002 and since 2008 with an office in Beijing committed to the advancement of both socio-political and economic development in the spirit of democratic socialism, through education, research, and international cooperation.

The RLS Beijing Representative Office is organizing national and international conferences, dialogue activities, seminars and workshops concerning current societal topics with its Chinese partner organizations. It is promoting scientific studies in social sciences and their practical implementation, organizing exchange of researchers, and publishing publications with its Chinese partner organisations. Partner organisations include Chinese government and Communist Party research and education institutions, academies of science, universities and higher education institutions. The cooperation with the Chinese partners is focused on social, ecological, historical, international as well as general socio-economical and development questions.
